French Language Arts
Each week, we will be working through a different theme in our classroom. These themes will be important to your child's homework throughout the year; please take the time to discuss these themes with your child and to study the spelling and meaning of these vocabulary words, as they will be used in reading and writing activities in class. The schedule presented is only a guideline, and is subject to change.
Below, you will find all of the vocabulary words with accompanying pictures - files are named by week# and then title to ease navigation.
Below, you will find an example and a full printable file on sounds and phonograms for your child to study - these sounds will be studied individually in class.

Over the course of the school year, our main focus of French Language Arts will be reading and writing, supported through the new integrated curriculum for P-3 in Nova Scotia.
There are many ways to interact with the French language outside of school! Here, you will find on-line tools for your children to further develop their vocabulary, their listening comprehension skills, their reading and writing abilities, and their overall love of the French language.
Audio books, games, on-line learning tools, and printable worksheets will reinforce and compliment what is being learned in class. We hope you enjoy these resources!
